EMPOWER AWARDS 2023

The People and Career Development Association is delighted to announce the esteemed recipients of the Empower Awards 2023, revealed on December 15, 2023.
The Empower Awards aim to honour career practitioners, organizations, institutions, and mentors who play pivotal roles in guiding individuals’ job aspirations. These awards specifically acknowledge those who actively contribute to career progression through innovative programs and demonstrate unwavering commitment to someone’s career journey. The recognition extends to those who excel in fostering a supportive environment for professional growth and development.
Through the Empower Awards, PCDA aspires to elevate the significance of Career Planning, Career Engagement, and the meaningful dialogue that should transpire between employers and employees during convocation. This accolade aims to recognize the endeavours of individuals and organizations that understand the importance of taking ownership of these critical aspects of the working journey. By acknowledging their efforts, we aim to spotlight the value of proactive engagement in shaping fulfilling and impactful career paths.
The Empower Awards is an annual celebration, and this year was no exception. It was a joyous occasion where we had the pleasure of gathering to share insights, laughter, and the details of what has unfolded in the lives of our community. The evening served as a platform to recognize and honour outstanding organizations and individuals who have made noteworthy contributions.
Amidst a number of nominations, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who submitted entries. Congratulations to all nominees – in our eyes, everyone is a winner, and your inspiring efforts are truly commendable.
We express our sincere thanks to our corporate sponsor, Prudential Singapore, for their invaluable support. A special acknowledgment goes to the dedicated PCDA team for their keen support and hard work in bringing these awards to fruition.

Launch of the Transformational Skills Framework for Career Development

11 August 2023 marked a significant milestone for People and Career Development Association, (PCDA) when we launched our Transformational Skills Framework for career development. While it is being said that skills are today’s currency for future of work and in Singapore, we are not short of skills frameworks to support skills upgrading and training. With the full repertoire of skills frameworks to support over 30 industry sectors by SkillsFuture Singapore and Career Development Framework by Workforce Singapore, these have supported our workforce and career practitioners fully in terms of domain, generic and transferable skills development for our career professional development.
We want to complement and cement the strength of every individual with this set of six Transformational Skills towards a holistic development of oneself, regardless of their current roles and one’s life stages. This is akin to the cement or putty that bonds the building blocks of existing frameworks and fills any gaps in between.

The six transformational skills we believe would help are:
• Grow through learning
• Adopt an entrepreneurial spirit
• Manage self and others
• Be a game changer
• Leverage on technologies
• Connect the dots
